Latrobe Bulletin Fri, Oct 30, 1970
Lawrence Edward (Brownie) Karns, 77, Main St. Youngstown, died yesterday in
Latrobe Area Hospital. Born March 19, 1893, in Youngstown, son of the late Henry
and Elizabeth Kuhns Karns. Retired lathe operator at Ales Products, retiring in
1958. Member St. James Lutheran Church, Youngstown, Youngstown Fire Department,
honorary policeman of Youngstown. Preceded in death by his wife, Florence
Elizabeth Tantlinger Karns in 1966. Surviving daughters, Gladys and Ethel Karns,
Youngstown; son, William H., Derry; sister Mrs. Katherine Friedline, Tunelton.
Family will receive friends at the M. S. Hartman Funeral Home, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9
pm after 7 pm today. Funeral services will be held at the chapel at 1 p.m.
Sunday, the Rev Robert C Schlotter officiating. Interment in the Youngstown
Cemetery.
