Myrtle K. Kennedy, 83, of Rector, died Monday afternoon in Latrobe Hospital. She was
born Sept. 26, 1897, in Tarrs, Pa., daughter of the late Delman and Mary Alice Tarr
Shaulis. She was a member of Rector United Methodist Church. Surviving are five
children: Myrtle Carns and Wilbert, both of Rector; Edith Leggett of Naples, Fl.;
and Mary Bearer of Rector; 21 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two great
great-grandchildren; four sisters: Margaret Dennison of Youngstown, Pa.; Lucinda
Neiderhiser and Lena Neiderhiser, both of Ligonier RD 4: and Pearl Clark of Rector;
and one brother, Robert Shaulis, of Minerva, Ohio. Family will receive friends from
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday and Thursday in Owen Wolford Funeral Home, Ligonier.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Friday in the chapel with the Rev. J.
Howard Smith officiating. Private interment will follow in the Ligonier Valley
Cemetery.
