Donald E. Kinkead, 76, a resident of Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Home,
Erie, (formerly of Derry) died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1993, in Metro Health Center,
Erie. He was born April 21, 1917, in Derry, a son of the late Harry and Agnes
(Callahan) Kinkead. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. A retired
employee of Torrance State Hospital, he spent most of his life in the Derry area
before moving to Erie. He was very active in the Derry Youth Baseball program,
and he was an avid sports fan. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by
his wife, Dorothy Reynolds Kinkead; two brothers, John and Kenneth, and a
grandson, Michael Pepicello. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Vincent (Brenda)
Pepicello, of Harborcreek; a stepson, Leroy Reynolds of Latrobe; two brothers,
Francis and Charles; four sisters, Anna Mae Drenning, Mary Scanlan, Marguerite
Ashley and Thersa Hassan; four grandchildren, and many friends at the Soldiers
and Sailors Home. Friends may call at Soldiers and Sailors Home Chapel, 560 E.
Third St., Erie, Friday from 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10
a.m. Monsignor Casimir Bogniak will officiate. Private burial will be at the
Soldiers and Sailors Home Cemetery. Carl A. Slornski and Son Funeral Home Inc.,
East 21st and Ash Street, Erie, Is hand-ling arrangements. Memorials may be made
to PROPS, PO Box 1023, Erie, PA 16512, or to the American Cancer Society, 2115
W. 38th St., Erie, PA 16508-1925.
