Wilbert F. "Bill" Kissell, 84, of Ligonier RD 3 died Sunday, Oct. 9, 1983, in
Latrobe Area Hospital. Born March 4, 1899, in Ligonier Township, he was a son of the
late Clel and Amy Luther Kissell. Before his retirement, he was a coal miner for the
Baton Coal Co. He was a member of the Christian Church of Waterford and the Ligonier
Township Sportsmen's Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by
his wife, Mary Agnes Roddy Kissell, in 1981, two sons, Wayne H. and Donald Kissell;
one daughter, Shirley Kissell, and one grandson. Surviving are one son, Robert R.
Kissell of Ligonier RD 3; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Friends
will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in
Wolford-McCracken Funeral Home, 144 E. Main St., Ligonier. Services will be held at
11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Sherrill Fritts, his
pastor, officiating. Private interment will follow in Green Mountain Cemetery,
Ligonier Township.
