James A. Knupp, 75, of Luxor (Hempfield Township), passed away Saturday, March 9,
2013, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. Born March 26, 1937, in Ligonier, he was a
son of the late Charles K. and Sarah M. (Miller) Knupp. James was retired from W. E.
Glunt Drilling in Greensburg. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and
fishing. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Knupp;
and two sisters, Thelma Kelly and Anna Mae Marker. James is survived by his wife,
Margaret (Buncie) Knupp, of Luxor; two daughters, Judith Koffman and husband,
Raymond, of Luxor, and Roxanne Wanichko and husband, Joseph, of Pleasant Unity;
three brothers, John Knupp, of Luxor, Ed Knupp, of Latrobe, and Ken Knupp, of Luxor;
two sisters, Becky Knupp, of Luxor, and Elvira Waryanka, of Irwin; five
grandchildren, Justine, Nicole, Marissa, Adam and Riley; a step grandson, William;
three great-grandchildren, Mikey, Kadence and Hunter; two step great-grandchildren,
Montana and Connor; a great-grandchild, Fiona, to be born in May; and a stepson,
William, of Arona. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev.
Bruce King officiating. Interment to follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
