The deceased, a son of the late Henry and Mary Kuhns, was born in Ligonier Valley. At the age of 31 he went west to Portland, Oregon, where he became engaged as a contractor, and continued in that capacity for 30 years. Following the death of his wife, he returned to Ligonier Valley, where for the past 20 years he had made his home with his two sisters, on the old Kuhns homestead near Oak Grove. Mr. Kuhns was an ardent lover of baseball. Even at his advanced age, few games were played in Ligonier Valley that Mr. Kuhns did not attend. He is survived by four sisters: Mrs. Lavina Arbaugh of Lansing, Michigan; Mrs. Hartman Kuhns of Ligonier; and Lucinda and Agnes, of Ligonier township; and by one brother, John Kuhns of Ligonier. Funeral services are being held at his late home at 2 o'clock this (Wednesday) afternoon in charge of Rev. Oscar W. Carlson, pastor of the Ligonier St. James Lutheran church of which Mr. Kuhns was a member. Interment will be made in the Ligonier Valley cemetery.
