His death was caused from excitement. During the afternoon of his death he was engaged in dragging a field with a four-horse team when they became frightened and ran away. Mr. Kuhns went to the house and complained he was not feeling well. He sat down and his wife began the preparation of the evening meal. When it was ready she went to call him just as he gasped a couple times for breath and expired. He was born in Westmoreland county, Pa., January 2, 1839, and had been married three times, his first and second wives being dead. By his first marriage, thirteen children were born, and by his second marriage, two. The deceased came to Iowa and located in Jasper county, and from there came to near Nevinville. He has been living near Adrian, Mo., for few years.
