He was born Dec. 12, 1827, and was aged 87 years, 3 months and 7 days. The funeral services were held at his late residence Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the presence of a large assemblage of relatives and neighbors who gathered to pay their last respects to the memory of the deceased, conducted by his pastor, Rev. Theo. Buch, of the local Lutheran church. Interment was made in Valley cemetery near Ligonier. Mr. Kuhns was a member of the Lutheran church of Ligonier from a young man and was always a faithful, earnest and devoted christian. He was an officers of the church for more than forty years and scarcely ever missed being present at services until he became too old and feeble to attend. His wife preceded him to the spirit world Oct. 16, 1914. He is survived by three sons and seven daughters: Robert and Baker, of Auburn, Wash.; John S., of Ligonier; Mrs. Henry Karns, of Youngstown, Pa. ; Mrs. H. H. Kuhns and Mrs. J. S. Griffith, of Ligonier; Mrs. H. C. Arbaugh, of Lansing, Mich.; Mrs. Wm. Ankney, of Ligonier township, and Miss Lucinda and Miss Agnes, at home, and by 34 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
