Kunkle, 87, of Latrobe, passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, in Barnes House, Derry Township. He was born Aug. 18, 1925, in Latrobe, a son of the late George Sr. and Sarah (Easton) Kunkle. Prior to retirement, Tom was employed by the Latrobe Steel Co. for more than 42 years. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the Marine Corps and a member of Christ United Church of Christ in Latrobe. He was a member and past exalted ruler of the Latrobe Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge No. 907, and a member of the Thomas B. Anderson American Legion Post 515 and the Cooperstown Veterans and Sportsmen's Club.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers Earl, Staff Sgt. Joseph, George and Jack Kunkle and a sister, Margaret Neigoot. He is survived by his wife of more than 62 years, Mary Lou (Herrington) Kunkle; a sister, Betty Brinker and her husband, Don, of Latrobe; two sisters- in-law, Nancy Kunkle, of Derry Township, and Gloria Christoff, of Greensburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 1500 Ligonier St., in Latrobe. Members of BPOE Lodge 907 will hold services at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Military services accorded by the combined funeral detail of American Legion Post 515 and VFW Post 3414 will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Christ United Church of Christ in Latrobe with his pastor, the Rev. Cindy Parker, officiating.
