Born Sept. 16, 1891, in Unity township, he was a son of the late Samuel W. and Louisa Jean Lawson. A life-time member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Latrobe, he was a retired member of the Latrobe Volunteer Fire Department having served as president of the Fifth Ward Hose Company in 1951 and a retired carpenter from Latrobe Forge and Spring. Surviving are his widow, Bertha A. Smith Lawson; two sons, Robert L. of Latrobe and Ronald W. of Latrobe RD 4, and three grandchildren. The body will lie in state from noon until 2 pm Thursday in the Trinity Lutheran Church when funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. John L. Reiner DD. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery.
