Lenhart, 75, of Latrobe, died Monday afternoon, March 19, 2012, at his home, following a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. His loving and devoted family was with him at his bedside. He was born Aug. 3, 1936, in Cook Township, a son of the late Clarence G. and Emma Stahl Lenhart. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by Lenhart Well Drilling for more than 20 years. He had served with the Air Force. He was a member of the Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he had served on many church committees, the Latrobe American Legion Post No. 515, the Veteran's Home Association and the USWA No. 1537. He was also a volunteer for the Chestnut Ridge Meals on Wheels. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a grandson, Lee Ryan Lenhart, in 2005; and a sister, Margaret Lenhart. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joyce Braden Lenhart; three sons, James K. (Erika) Lenhart, of Greensburg, Robert K. (Cynthia) Lenhart, of York, S.C., and Kenneth S. Lenhart, of Latrobe; two grandchildren, Wade and Lauren Lenhart; three step grandchildren, Garrett, Abigale and Nathaniel; a sister, Nancy (James) Barlock, of Acme; four brothers, Clair R. (Nancy) Lenhart, of Acme, Carl H. (Martha) Lenhart, of Uniontown, Dean K. (Ella) Lenhart, of Stahlstown, and Roger L. (Lenita) Lenhart, of Ligonier; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Friends and family will gather together from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the J. PAUL MCCRACKEN FUNERAL CHAPEL INC., 144 E. Main St., Ligonier. Kenneth's life will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church with his pastor, the Rev. Wayne Gillespie, officiating. Interment will follow in the Unity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Ken's memory be made to the Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church Addition Fund, 647 Bethel Church Road, Latrobe, PA 15650.
