Oliver C. Lentz, 78, of Latrobe died Friday, Jan. 15, 1993, in Latrobe Area
Hospital. He was born Oct. 25, 1914, in Latrobe, a son of the late Norman L. and
Elizabeth Arbogast Lentz. Prior to retirement, he was the owner of the Oliver
Lentz Lumber Co. and the Oliver Lentz Construction Co. He was a member of St.
James Evangelical Lutheran Church of Youngstown. In addition to his parents, he
was predeceased by his wife, Mary Ruth Roby Lentz, in 1989; an infant sister,
Dorothy; a sister, Beatrice Shirey, and a brother, Harry. Surviving are seven
children, David of Bolivar RD 1, Donna Lentz of Latrobe, Daniel of Phoenix,
Ariz., George of Derry, Thomas of Latrobe, Mrs. Brian (Marjorie) Henderson of
Albany, N.Y., and Julie Fiedler of Latrobe; step-mother, Hazel Lentz of
Greensburg; two brothers, Norman K. and Earl, and a sister, Leona Fontanesi, all
of Latrobe; 18 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Friends will be
received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in L. Boyd
Snyder Funeral Home, Route 982 South, Latrobe, (Youngstown). Funeral service
will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. James Lutheran Church, Youngstown, with
the Rev. Judith Boggs officiating. Interment will be in Unity Cemetery, Unity
Township. L. Boyd Snyder is in charge of arrangements.
