Paul E. "Pete" Lundquist, 81, of Laughlintown, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at
his home. He was born May 27, 1930, in Youngstown, Pa., a son of the late August
and Britta Neylan Lundquist. He was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Ligonier. Pete was a charter member of the Laughlintown Protective
Association. He was self-employed as a general contractor for 50 years. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy D.
Lundquist (Nov. 3, 2002); three sisters, Gertrude Black, Rose Balko and Ruth
Bodner; and a nephew, Jackie Bodner. Pete is survived by his wife of 57 years,
Mary Smith Lundquist; two sons, Paul E. Lundquist Jr. and his wife, Doreen, of
Latrobe, and Alan H. Lundquist, of Rowlett, Texas; six grandchildren, Kasey
Plummer, Danielle Carns, Jennifer, Renee and Paul Lundquist III and Alexandra
Lundquist; two nephews; and two nieces. Family and friends will be received from
2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 402 E. Church
St., Ligonier. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel
of the funeral home with the Rev. Paul D. Poerschke officiating. Interment will
be in Ligonier Valley Cemetery.
