It was of the customary stereotyped form, and said that Corporal Axel Lundquist, Infantry, had been killed in action, September 29th. Corporal Axel Lundquist was a brother of Sergeant Emil Lundquist, who also was a member of Company M and who lost his left arm, the night Company M was bombed by an enemy airplane. Sgt. Emil Lundquist was sent back to America, a month or more ago, for treatment, and he is now home on a leave of absence. His arm had to be taken off above the elbow. He was with Company M on the border. Corporal Axel Lundquist joined Company M following the declaration of war. He was slightly wounded, early in the fighting, but was able to return to duty. He was about 27 years of age. Before enlisting, he was employed at the Hostetter store. He was well known in Latrobe, and was well liked.
