Latrobe Advance  Wed, Oct 09, 1889
Mrs. Mary Madigan, on Wednesday, Oct. 2nd, after five years of illness, passed
from the arms of loving and sorrowing friends... She was born in County
Kilkenny, Ireland, in 1824, and was in her 65th year when she died.
She came to this country with her husband in 1850 landing in New York city where
she remained until 1854, leaving New York and arriving in Latrobe, Ligonier
Street. In 1868, death called away her husband, leaving her the care of four
sons and one daughter who still survive her. The funeral services took place
Friday morning at 9:30 o'clock in the Holy Family Church. Rev. Father Jas. A.
Cosgrave, of Pittsburg, conducted the services...
