She was born Jan. 25, 1912, in Ligonier Township, a daughter of the late Lemmon and Catherine (Heiple) Carns. Prior to retirement, Edna had been employed by Jeannette Glass Co. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Ligonier. She is survived by her son, John Robert "Bob" (and his wife, Sylvia) Madill of West Newton; granddaughter, Sondra Madill; two sisters, Lillian Ayres of Latrobe and Gladys Stillwagon of Connellsville; a brother, Edgar Carns of Ligonier, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Loucetta Shirey, and three brothers, Harry, Louis and Clyde Carns. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in J. Paul McCracken Funeral Chapel Inc., 144 E. Main St., Ligonier, where service will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Robert D. Cummings officiating. Interment will follow in Ligonier Valley Cemetery, Ligonier Township. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Ligonier Gardens Activity Fund.
