Mr. Magill was the father of J. C. Magill, Esq., of Catalpa Grove, Iowa. He was born in the county of Derry, Ireland, and came to America at the age of sixteen. He was an early pioneer, of what, in his youth was the West. He served in Gen. Harrison's army, during the late war, on the Maumee river, and participated in some of the severest actions of the war. His decease will be heard of with deep regret, by many who will read this notice. Peace to the old veteran's ashes.
