Mrs. Rita P. Mahady, 85, of Latrobe died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1997, in IHS at
Mountain View, Unity Township. She was born Oct. 5, 1912, in New York, N. Y.
Retired tipstaff for Westmoreland County, serving with President Judge David H.
Weiss and Judge Charles Loughran, she was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic
Church, St. Vincent College Women's Auxiliary, Holy Family Rosary Society,
Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Golden Agers, and Latrobe Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Mahady, in 1971. Surviving
are three sons, Thomas P. (and his wife, Sally) of Rochester, Pa., District
Justice Michael R. (and his wife, Rebecca) of Youngstown and William O. of
Derry; her daughter, Kathleen A. Mahady of Pittsburgh, and four grandchildren,
Thomas, Allison, Michael and Jessica. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2
to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Dell-Frederick Funeral Home Inc., 1543 Ligonier
St., Latrobe. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Family
Roman Catholic Church, Latrobe. Burial will be In St. Vincent Cemetery, Unity
Township. Holy Family Rosary Altar Society will recite the rosary at 3 p.m.
Tuesday in the funeral home. 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe.
