Charles H. "Bud" Massena Jr., 86, of Latrobe died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, in
Latrobe Area Hospital. Born June 15, 1918, in Latrobe, he was a son of the late
Charles H. Sr. and Dora M. (Fry) Massena. He was one of 13 brothers and sisters.
He retired from Standard Steel and also had worked for West Evergreen Service. A
World War II veteran, he served in the U. S. Army. In addition to his parents,
he was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters. He is survived by
his wife, Ruth Correll Massena; a son, Chris K. Massena of Latrobe; two
daughters, Anita R. Little and husband, Brian, of Latrobe and Charlene O'Connor
and husband, Sean, of Groveland, Mass.; two grandsons, Robert Massena and wife,
Tammy, and Adam Hoffer; a great-grandson, Zachary Massena, and a brother, Nevin
Massena of Lumberton, N. J. Family and friends were received 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday
in John J. Lopatich Funeral Home Inc., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Military service
was conducted 12:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home by American Legion Post 515
and VFW Post 3414. Funeral service was held 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home
with the Rev. James E. Person officiating. Interment was in Bethel Cemetery,
Cook Township.
