Mazon, 79, of Latrobe RD 4 died Sunday, Jan. 26, 1992, in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Dec. 10, 1912, in Unity Township, a son of the late Adam and Nellie Mazon. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Vulcan Mold and Iron Co., Latrobe. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion and VFW, both of Mount Pleasant, the Norvelt Fireman's Club, and the Cooperstown Veteran's and Sportsman's Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Joseph, Martin and Alex, and, three sisters, Helen Paradine, Mary Porembka and Agnes Stroz. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Bednar Mazon; a son, Donald of Latrobe; a brother, Peter of Vallejo, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Leon (Catherine) Wechuck of Ohio and Mrs. John (Estella) Prah of Youngstown, Pa.; four grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in John J. Lopatich Funeral Home Inc., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township. Pleasant Unity VFW will bold a service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
