Margaret M. Mazon, 83, of Latrobe, died Saturday, June 30, 2007, in Latrobe Regional
Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born Oct. 12, 1923, in Whitney, she was a daughter
of the late Michael and Anna Bednar. She was a life member of the White Eagles Club,
Latrobe. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adam J.
Mazon; four brothers, Andy, George, Joe and Steve Bednar; and three sisters, Mary
Messaris, Edna Overly and Elizabeth Ersick. She is survived by a son, Donald Mazon
and his wife, Karen, of Latrobe; a brother, John Bednar, of Indianapolis, Ind.; four
grandchildren, Darcie Maksin and her husband Paul, Royleen Martin and her husband
Donald, Misty Mason and Philip Kunkle, and Donald Mazon Jr.; and three
great-grandchildren, Chelsi Kunkle, Hunter Kunkle and Garrett Martin. She is also
survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from
3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon
St., Latrobe. A blessing service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home
with the Rev. Aaron Buzzelli, O.S.B., officiating. Interment will follow in Unity
Cemetery. The Sacred Heart Rosary Society will recite the rosary at 2:30 p.m. Monday
in the funeral home. A parish wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the
funeral home.
