Latrobe Bulletin (Latrobe, Pennsylvania) · 16 Mar 1932, Wed 
James N McBride, 70 years of age, a resident of Latrobe for 
the past 33 years, died at 11:50 o'clock last night at the 
home of his daughter, Mrs. R. E. Burke, of 712 Spring 
Street. Although in ill health for some time, Mr. McBride 
always took an active interest in municipal affairs and was 
a member of the local council for 20 years, serving several 
terms as president for that body. He was born January 17, 
1862, in Philadelphia. On December 5th, 1883, he was married 
to Emma West, of Lincoln Furnace, O. He was located at 
several different places before coming to Latrobe in 1899. 
He was employed at the Railway Steel Spring company plant, 
at the Pittsburgh Brewing company plant, and later, went 
into business for himself, conducting an automobile 
accessory store. Mr. McBride's death occurred just five days 
less than eight years after the death of his wife. er death 
occurred on March 23, 1924. He is survived by the following 
children: Mrs. R. E. Burke of Latrobe; Mrs. Catherine Burke 
of Morgantown, W. Va.; Mrs. E. O. Haugh, Mrs. Jesse 
Drouillard, Mrs. Emma Gruener, Mrs. William Walton, all of 
Detroit, Mich.; James J. McBride of Detroit, Mich.; and 
Charles McBride of Wheeling, W. Va. One sister, Miss 
Elizabeth McBride, of Philadelphia, also survives. Mr. 
McBride was a member of the Holy Family church. Services 
will be held at the Holy Family church at 9 o'clock Saturday 
morning with solemn High Mass requiem.
