Soxman, Jr., near Latrobe, on Saturday night last, November 28, 1885, Mrs. Sarah McCarty, aged about 72 years. Mrs. McCarty was the mother of Mrs. M. Soxman, Jr., and, although quite an aged lady, for a number of years past has been suffering with some obscure malady, which baffled all medical treatment. At different times she expressed desire that in the event of her death a postmortem examination of her remains be held so that the true nature of her disease could be ascertained. Accordingly on Sunday afternoon last, Drs. McConaughey and Hughes held a post-mortem and found an adhesion of the stomach and transverse colon to the liver which contracted the functions of the stomach. A critical examination demonstrated the fact that, this adhesion was of long years standing and was the cause of much suffering to the unfortunate lady.
