Latrobe Advance Wed, Jan 18, 1888
Roderick McDermott, one of the oldest and most respected residents of Unity
township, died Monday morning last after an illness of some two weeks. Mr.
McDermott was well known to almost everybody in this section of the county and
resided on the pike a short distance west of St. Xavier's Convent. He lived to
be about ninety years of age, was a Democrat of the old school and a man of
decided opinions. Many people know and respected Roddy McDermott and all liked
to hear him talk. The funeral will take place this, Wednesday morning, at 10
o’clock.
