Latrobe Bulletin Mon, Feb 17, 1986
Clarence A. McDowell, 94, of Missoula, Mont., (formerly of Ligonier and
Latrobe), died Friday, Feb. 14, 1986, in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Aug.
26, 1891, in Cook Township, a son of the late K. A. and Keziah Elizabeth
McKlveen McDowell. Before retirement, he was a merchant in Latrobe. In addition
to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Orpha Stahl McDowell; one
daughter, Thelma Mae McDowell; five brothers, John, Harry, James A., Denny and
Roy Frank McDowell, and four sisters, Mae McDowell, Minnie Martin, Ophie Sibal
and Laura Patton. He is survived by two sons, Eli A. of Portland, Ore., and
Lloyd E. of Bigfort, Mont.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and one
sister, Mrs. H. M. Cramer of Ligonier. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Bell and East Church streets,
Ligonier. Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel,
with the Rev. John J. McClure officiating. Private interment will follow in
Unity Cemetery.
