Latrobe Bulletin Fri, Feb 15, 1980 
Edward J. McDowell, 81, of 400 Washington St., Ligonier, died unexpectedly
Thursday evening at his home. He was born July 5, 1898, in Monroeville, son of
the late Richard and Anna Jane Johnston McDowell. A veteran of World War I, he
was a member of Covenant United Presbyterian Church, Ligonier. He is survived by
his widow, Elizabeth McDowell; one daughter, Mrs. James (Louise) Asbaugh of
Ligonier; two granddaughters; a number of nieces and nephews, and one sister,
Mrs. Richard (Olive) St. Clair of Ligonier. Family will receive friends in Owen
Wolford Funeral Home, Ligonier, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Covenant United
Presbyterian Church, Ligonier, with the Rev. John J. McClure officiating.
Private interment will follow in Ligonier Valley Cemetery Monday. F & AM 331
will hold services at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
