McKelvey, widow of Jos. W. McKelvey, deceased, died at the home of her youngest daughter, Mrs. Alta M. Gross, Tuesday afternoon, March 25, of heart failure. She became seriously ill just two hours before death came. Two daughters were by her side, Mrs. Johnston and Mrs. Gross. Deceased was born March 22, 1839, and was aged 74 years and 3 days. She survived her husband 22 years. There also survive to mourn her, 8 children, two sisters, and 22 grandchildren. The children are: Clark N., Indiana county; Mathew F., of Fredericksburg, O., Smith W. and Lettie B. Shaffer, Braddock; Jennie W Johnston, of Cook township; James P., of Wilkinsburg; Anna A. Bodimer, of N. S. Pittsburgh; and Alta M. Gross, of Ligonier. The sisters are Mrs. Mary Mathews, of S. S. Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Susan Lytle, of Wooster, O. The children with their wives and husbands were all present except Mather F., prevented from coming by the Ohio floods. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the home of Jas. Gross, conducted by Rev. E. H. Carson. Interment at Fairfield U. P. cemetery.
