Latrobe Bulletin  Tue, Mar 11, 1941
Mrs. Elizabeth Dodds Mears, widow of the late Samuel S. Mears, of Donohoe, aged
83 years, died at the home of her son, Samuel S. Mears, Jr., this morning at
3:40 o'clock. Mrs. Mears was born in Youngstown, Pa., October 24, 1868, a
daughter of the late James and Mary Dodds, but had been a resident of Donohoe
for the past 46 years. She was a member of the First Lutheran church, of
Greensburg. Surviving are four sons: Samuel S., Jr., and Harry, of Donohoe;
Lloyd, of South Greensburg; and J. A. Mears, of R. D. No. 2, Greensburg; 2
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive, as does one sister, Miss
Ellen Dodds. of Zelienople. Funeral services will be held from the home of
Samuel Mears, Jr., at 2:30 Thursday afternoon. Rev. Charles M. Shindler, pastor
of the First Lutheran church, Greensburg. officiating. Interment will follow in
Unity Cemetery.
