Mrs. Anna K. Metil, 82, of Latrobe RD 3 (Marguerite), died Tuesday in Latrobe
Area Hospital. Born March 18, 1898, in Baggaley, she was a daughter of the late
George and Anna Rushnock Chockota. She was owner and operator of a grocery store
in Marguerite for almost 50 years, member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, and
the Third Order of St. Francis. She was preceded in death by her husband, John,
in 1950, and two sisters. Surviving are four sons, Joseph at home, Michael of
Latrobe, John of Pittsburgh, Dr. George Metil of Latrobe RD 3; two daughters,
Mrs. James (Anne) Como of Jeannette, Mrs. C. Dale (Mary) Graham of Latrobe RD 1;
one sister, Mrs. Susan Kwaczala Banff of Arizona; one brother, Paul of Latrobe
RD 3; 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends
in the James P. Gaut Funeral Home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and
Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St.
Benedict Catholic Church with the Rev. Jordan G. Burick, O.S.B., as celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery.
