Latrobe Bulletin Wed, Jul 30, 1986
James A. Mills, 92, of Latrobe RD 2, died Monday, July 28, 1986, in Latrobe Area
Hospital. He was born Nov. 17, 1893, in Hagerstown, Md., a son of the late
Abraham and Mary Keys Mills. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by
Standard Steel. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church of Latrobe and
a life member of LOOM Lodge 95. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine
Henry Mills, June 25, 1979, and two sons, James and John. Surviving are two
sons, Edward J. of Canton, Ohio, and Raymond P. of Latrobe RD 2; three daughters
Mrs. Matilda A. Maiers of Penn Hills and Mrs. Mary M. Stahovic and Mrs. James
(Edna) Noel, both of Latrobe RD 2; 29 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday in John J. Lopatich Funeral Home, Latrobe. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John the Evangelist Church,
Latrobe, with the Rev. Daniel Mahoney as celebrant. Interment will follow in
Unity Cemetery, Unity Township. Rosary Altar Christian Mothers Society of St.
John the Evangelist Church will meet at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home
to recite the rosary.
