Daniel Monahan, operator at Youngwood, on the Southwest branch, was run over at that place Monday evening by the Youngwood accommodation and killed. The young man lived a short distance north of the station and it seems he had been home and was returning to the office when the accident which cost him his life, happened. It was about seven o'clock and as he was walking down the track he had to step out of the way of a freight, and in doing so got in front of the accommodation train as it came backing up which knocked him down and passed over him. He was not found until an hour afterwards, but was still living, although death resulted before midnight.
