Linda A. Monzo, Ed.D, 65, of Latrobe, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014, at
Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. She was born April 10, 1948, in Pittsburgh, a
daughter of the late Gabriel Monzo and Marion (Van Essen) Monzo. She was a member at
St. Vincent Basilica. Linda was retired from Concurrent Technologies Corporation in
Johnstown and had been previously employed at Greensburg Salem School District as an
educator and administrator. She was a graduate of Greater Latrobe Senior High
School, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, West Virginia University and the
University of Pittsburgh. Linda is survived by a son, Thomas Tangretti and his wife,
Katie, of Cicero, N.Y.; a daughter, Leigh Tangretti and her husband, Michael
Sheffler, of Greensburg; a brother, Gabriel Monzo and his wife, Linda, of Latrobe;
two sisters, Marianne Holnaider and her husband, Tom, of Latrobe, and Nancy Gibson,
of Uniontown; five grandchildren, Olivia, Gabrielle, Dominic, Nicholas and Adrian;
she is also survived by Emil C. Sarady, of Latrobe. There will be no public
visitations. Entombment will be private. Family and friends are invited to attend a
memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent Basilica. In lieu of flowers, the
family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of one's choice in
Linda's name. Arrangements are being handled by the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME
INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe.
