Morehead Attacked by Son A sad affair took place in Rostraver township, Westmoreland county, a few days ago, which the Greensburg Herald thus details: A young man by the name of Morehead, who is not right, mentally, attacked his father, Mr. C. G. Morehead. while at breakfast, with a hatchet, and cut him so badly in the head that he cannot live. Dr. J. L. Vanvoorhis, who attended the wounded man, took out quite a large piece of the fractured skull immediately over the brain, laying bare that organ. The old man is still living, but bereft of reason. After the young man had, as he supposed, killed the father, he drove the balance of the family out of the house, and fastened himself in. An officer came from West Newton and arrested young Morehead. Caleb Morehead, of Rostraver township, Westmoreland county, who was so fearfully cut and beaten with a hatchet, by his insane son, died of his injuries on the 9th inst.
