Dr. A. Wayne Mountan Veterinarian dies at age 58
Dr. A. Wayne Mountan, 58, of 806 Monastery Dr., Latrobe, (Lawson Heights) died
Friday, Dec. 6, 1985, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Sept. 25,
1927, in Unity Township, he was a son of the late Albert E. and Lulu Jane
Johnson Mountan. Owner of Lakeview Animal Clinic, Unity Township, he was a
member of Charter Oak United Methodist Church, Mountain View, Lions Club of
Latrobe, Loyalhanna Lodge No. 275, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Syria Temple of
Pittsburgh, AVMA, past president of Pennsylvania VMA. a board member of
Veterinary Medical Examiners, secretary-treasurer of Adelphoi Village, a member
of board of directors of Median School of Pittsburgh, and the American
Association of Equine Practitioners. In addition to his parents he was preceded
in death by one sister, Helen Mountan, and one brother, Raymond J. Mountan.
Surviving are his wife, Sally Jane Bender Mountan; one son, Gregory Allan
Mountan of Latrobe; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Cheryl Lynn) Krisfalusi and
Mrs. Richard (Deborah Ann) Fowler, both of Latrobe and Amy Leigh Mountan of
Greensburg and three grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 o 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday in James
B. Gaut Funeral Home Inc., Pleasant Unity. Service will be held at 11 a.m.
Tuesday in Charter Oak United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clifford E. Buell
officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery. Memorial contributions may
be made to Charter Oak United Methodist Church, American Heart Association or
Adelphoi Village. Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the
funeral home.
