DeMaris M. "Dee" Murren, 76, of Ligonier and Fort Myers, Fla., died early Friday
morning, Nov. 13, 2009, in Hope Hospice House in Cape Coral, Fla. She was born
Aug. 12, 1933, in Indiana, Pa., a daughter of the late Thomas and Louise Stitt.
Dee graduated from the Latrobe Hospital School of Nursing in 1954 and worked as
a registered nurse at the Latrobe Area Hospital until her retirement 1992. She
was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ligonier. Dee and her
husband Bill spent their retirement traveling the world. In addition to her
parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Lenz Jr., in 1990.

She is survived by her second husband of 17 years, William E. Murren; three
sons, Fred (Lori) Lenz of Woodbridge, Va., Cliff (Linda) Lenz of Bolivar and
Shannon (Linda) Lenz of New Stanton; a stepson, Shawn (Margaret) Murren of Fort
Myers; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
Friends and family will gather 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in J. Paul
McCracken Funeral Chapel and Crematory Inc., 144 E. Main St., Ligonier, where
Dee's life will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday with her pastor, the Rev. Paul D.
Poerschke, officiating. Interment will follow in Ligonier Valley Cemetery,
Ligonier Township.
