Catherine N. Netzlof, 97, of Latrobe died Wednesday, June 30, 1999, in
Loyalhanna Care Center, Derry Township. She was born March 7, 1912, in Latrobe,
a daughter of the late Peter and Natalie (Abram) Netzlof. Prior to her
retirement, Catherine was a school teacher with the Greater Latrobe School
District. She taught physics and aeronautics in the senior high school for many
years. A graduate of Latrobe High School and the University of Pittsburgh, she
received her master's in science from Purdue University. She also attended
Indiana and Columbia universities. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Latrobe, where she was a past member of the church council. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Helmund W.
and Theodore P. Netzlof, and a sister, Elizabeth Witherspoon. She is survived by
a sister, Rosalie R. Parker of West Newton; two sisters-in-law, Nina P. Netzlof
and Elizabeth C. Netzlof, both of Latrobe, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends win be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Hartman-Graziano
Funeral Home Inc., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe. Funeral service will be held at 1
p.m. Friday in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Latrobe, with the church
pastors officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.
