Nicely, fireman on the Chicago Limited, was instantly killed at Lilly yesterday morning by being struck by a mail crane while leaning out of the cab window. His neck was broken and his skull crushed in. Nicely was only married on December 17th. Tyrone Daily Herald Tue, Dec 29, 1891 ·Page 4 A Very Sad Death. - George M. Nicely, fireman on New York and Chicago Limited, was instantly killed yesterday morning by his head striking a mail post near Lilly station on the western division of the P. R. R., while leaning far out of his cab window looking at the injector. The blow was a terrible one and he was thrown to the ground. His remains were taken to Altoona where they were prepared for burial. His home was in Ligonier. The deceased leaves a young wife to whom he was married on the 17th inst., the ceremony being performed in Hollidaysburg. She was visiting at her home in Indiana, Pa., when the accident occurred. His parents and several brothers survive him.
