Samuel Alton Noel, 90, died at his home, 1034 Hillview Ave., today at 6:30 am.
Born in Butler County, Feb. 26, 1868, he came to Ligonier Valley as a child and
has resided in this area since that time. He retired in 1938 after farming in
Derry Township for 27 years specializing in the raising of strawberries. He was
a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He is survived by his widow Mrs. Ophelia
Mitchell Noel, and these children: Mrs. Fred (Irene) Beuten, Latrobe; Mrs.
Simeon (Alice) Beck, Derry; Mrs. Frank (Ethel) Cerutti, Connellsville; Mrs.
Glenn (Mabel) Rusher, Derry; Clyde L., Latrobe; Glenn A., Latrobe; 14
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. These brothers and a sister also survive:
Sherman, Jeannette; Oscar, Pittsburgh; Logan, Ligonier; Jesse, Whitney; Mrs.
Joseph (Nellie) Fleckenstine, McKeesport. Friends may call at the R. W. Dell
Home for Funerals from 10 a. m. to 10 p. m. daily. The family will receive
friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 10 p. m. Services will be held in the chapel of the
funeral home Friday at 2 p. m. in charge of his pastor, the Rev. John L. Reiner.
Interment will be St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Youngstown.
