On last Saturday afternoon, Oct. 25, 1919, at the home of her son, William Noel. of Indian street, Ligonier, there passed away one of the aged and honored women of this community, Mrs. Lavina Jane Nicely Noel. Mrs. Noel was born on Four Mile Run April 6, 1838. In 1864 she was united in marriage to Mr. Jonas Noel, who with one sister, eight children, thirty-three grandchildren and six great-grand- children survive her. Her entire life was spent in Ligonier township. After leaving the old home she and her husband made their home for a time in Laughlintown, later coming to Ligonier. About two months ago Mrs. Noel fell and sustained injuries, which, together with her advanced age, made her recovery impossible. She passed quietly to her great reward on Saturday, Oct. 25, surrounded by her entire family. Mrs. Noel was a member of the St. John's Reformed church. On Monday at 1:30 p. m. the funeral services were held at the home of her son and. were conducted by Rev. Wm. F. Fleming and Rev. Theo. Buch. Interment in the Ligonier Valley cemetery.
