John Noel, 89, of Latrobe RD 1 (Lycippus) died Sunday, Oct. 2, 1983, in
Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born May 8, 1894, in Cook Township, a
son of the late Harry L. and Lydia Hunter Noel. A veteran of World War I, he was
a member of American Legion Unity Township Post 982 and a retired employee of
Pevarnik Brothers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Shumar Noel, in
1974 and one sister, Melissa Reid. Surviving are three sons, Thomas R. of
Latrobe RD 1, Ward P. of Latrobe and John R. of Greensburg RD 7; three
daughters, Mrs. Charles (Marie) Foreit of Latrobe, Mrs. George (Dorothy) Bush of
Derry and Mrs. Robert (Jane) Lawrence of Milwaukee, Wis.; one brother, Charles
of Sebring, Fla.; 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends will be
received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in James P. Gaut
Funeral Home Inc., Pleasant Unity. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.
Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Charles H. Frederickson officiating.
Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
