Dies Jonas Noel, 88 years eight months and 13 days of age, a Civil War veteran, died at 5:45 o'clock yesterday morning, at the home of his son, William H. Noel, of Ligonier. He had been in ill health for the past year or more. He had been a resident of Laughlinstown all his life until several years ago, when he came to Ligonier to make his home with his son. He served in the army for four years and ten months, during the Civil War. He is survived by the following children: Mrs A.M. Carns, of Meadville, Pa.; Mrs Jane Clark, of Derry township; Mrs Edna Bitner, of Ligonier; Mrs B.B. Young, of Pittsburgh; W.H. Noel, of Ligonier; Edward Noel of Laughlinstown; Milton Noel, of Laughlinstown and Harry O. Noel, of Greensburg. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren and by 20 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the home of his son, W.H. Noel, Ligonier, at 2:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, in charge of the Rev H.F. Cost, pastor of the Ligonier Presbyterian church. A military funeral will be conducted by the Ligonier Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Interment will be made in the Ligonier Valley cemetery.
