Mrs. Ellen Mae Overly, 76, of Mount Pleasant RD 1, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 1995,
at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born Sept. 13, 1918, in Mount
Pleasant Township, a daughter of the late Edward and Flora (Klink) Friedline.
She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Pleasant Church of the Brethren. She
had attended the former Hecla School in Mount Pleasant Township. In addition to
her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Miller and Robert
Friedline. She Is survived by her husband of 60 years, Albert "Tom" Overly Jr.;
three sons, Albert Overly III of Columbus, Ohio, Dwayne E. Overly (and his wife,
Rosemary) of Latrobe RD 2 and Mark Kent Overly of Kissimmee, Fla.; three
daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Charlotte) Lawrence of San Lorenzo, Calif., Mrs. Lance
(Marlene) Grote of Burleson, Texas, and Mrs. Frank (Margaret) McMullen of Palm
Harbor, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Jay
Friedline of Sharon, Ohio; a half brother, James Friedline of Latrobe; a sister,
Mrs. Donald (lone) Eaches of Donegal; a half sister, Mrs. Mary Lou Hutchison of
Clarksburg, W. Va., and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Eugene G. Saloom Funeral Home Inc., Main
Street, Mount Pleasant, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the
Rev. Henry G. Landis and the Rev. Richard C. Overly co-officiating. Interment
will follow in Mount Joy Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Mount Pleasant
Church of the Brethren, 201 Washington St., Mount Pleasant, PA 15666.
