Palmer was a successful farmer, and for a time he also was engaged with his brother in saw milling. He was in his 75th year. In October, 1866 be was united in marriage to Miss Sybilla Bossart, of Youngstown. She died ten years ago in September, 1906. He was a brother of the late Isaac Palmer and Sister M. Rita, of the Mercy Order, whose death occurred a year ago. He leaves to survive him eight children: Mrs. Edward Folk, of Greensburg; Mrs. Henry Hertel, of Philadelphia; Mrs. George Taylor; Mrs. Jerome Kloos and Mrs. Henry Kloos, all of Latrobe; Leo Palmer, of Unity township; and Mary and Edward, both at home. Twelve grandchildren and a niece, Mrs. Elsie Palmer Gardner, also mourn his loss, together with a brother, Eli Palmer, of McKeesport. Requiem mass will be said in St. Vincent church at nine o'clock, Saturday morning, followed by interment in St. Vincent cemetery.
