Latrobe Bulletin (Latrobe, Pennsylvania)
David William Piper of Derry Twp., Blairsville RD 3, died at 9:15 am, February 5,
1955, in Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born October 20, 1913, in Derry Twp.,
son of Williard and Catherine (Rutter) Piper, he was a machinist at the McKenna
Metal Co. in Latrobe. He was a member of the Methodist church in Blairsville and of
IOOF Blairsville No. 436. Services will be held Tuesday at 2 pm from the Ferguson
Funeral Home, Blairsville, the Rev. J. N. Hempstead and the Rev. A. J. Thomas
officiating. Interment in the Blairsville cemetery. He is survived by his wife,
Gladys Stuchell Piper; two daughters and two sons: Edna Grace and Nancy Ann, Paul
and Thomas, all at home; his mother Mrs. Catherine Piper of Blairsville; three
brothers and one sister: Mrs. Edna Piper Harmon of Verona; Albert, Harry and George
Piper, all of Blairsville.
