Latrobe Bulletin Mon, Aug 22, 1977
Irvin E. Piper, 57, of Latrobe R. D. 4, died Saturday afternoon in Latrobe Area
Hospital. He was born June 1, 1920, in Cook Twp., son of the late Cleveland and
Myrtle Nicely Piper. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church and operated
a saw mill for a number of years. Surviving are his widow, Violet Coleman Piper,
five sons, Delmer, of Ligonier, Alfred, of Latrobe R. D. 4, Rickie, of Latrobe
R. D. 1, Harvey, of Latrobe, and Randy, at home; four daughters, Mrs. Samuel
(Shirley) Achhmanner of Latrobe R. D. 4, Mrs. Charles (Beverly) Hutter of
Ligonier, Mrs. Richard (Deborah) Stewart of Latrobe and Pamila at home; six
brothers, Merle, William, Carl, Ray and Walter all of Latrobe R. D. 4, Calvin of
Greensburg; three sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Violet) Lenhart and Mrs. Clarence (Emma)
Lenhart both of Latrobe R. D. 4, Mrs. Robert (Wanda) Grote of Youngstown, and 17
grandchildren. Friends will be received at the L. Boyd Snyder Funeral Home,
Route 711 Stahlstown, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be
held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bethel Lutheran Church, Latrobe, with the Rev. Norman
Appleby officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
