Mrs. Anna Mabel Shirey Poche, 98, of Greensburg (formerly of Weltytown) died
Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, in IHS at Mountain View, Unity Township. She was born
Dec. 3, 1902, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John F. and Sarah A. (Armel)
Shirey. She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Trauger. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F.
Poche; a son, Charles Ernie Poche; a daughter, Sarah Jane "Sally" Mott; five
sisters, Rebecca Elizabeth Shirey, Oma Pearl Smith, Harriet Elsie Shirey, Nellie
Irene Hughes and Alice Belle Shirey, and a brother, John Franklin Shirey. She is
survived by a son, Richard E. Poche (and his wife, Lillian) of Hutchinson; three
daughters: Mary Helen Dunn of Weltytown, Mrs. Dean (Anna Katheryn) Reese of
Norvelt and Mrs. Michael (Paulette) Zarnik of Hillsborough, N. J.; a daughter-
in-law, Donna Poche of Latrobe; a son-in-law, Mike Mott of Humphreys; 15
grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren, and many
nieces and nephews. Friends were received Sunday and will be received from 3 to
5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Gaut-Bacha Funeral Home Inc., Pleasant Unity.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Trauger, with the Rev. Kurt F. Kusserow officiating. Interment will
follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Township.
