Quitko, Jr., 70, of Latrobe, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 1983, in Latrobe Area Hospital. Born January 21, 1913 in Latrobe, he was a son of the late Joseph and Nellie Buncie Quitko, Sr. Before his retirement, he was employed by Latrobe Steel Co. with 44 years of service. He was a veteran of WW II, having served with the US Navy; he also was in the D-day invasion of Normandy on Utah Beach. He was a member of FOE 01188 in Latrobe, the White Eagles Assoc., the Goodwill Hose Co. No. 1 Fireman's Club and Youngstown Fire Dept. and Relief Assoc., honorary member of the Cooperstown Vets and Sportsman's Club; member of the VFW, American Legion Post 515, Frontier Club, Kingston Vets and Sportsman's Club, and Sons of Italy and the Loyal Order of the Moose. He was also a member of Holy Family Church. Preceding him in death were one sister, Clara Quitko, and one brother, George Quitko. Friends will be received at John J. Lopatich Funeral Home, Latrobe. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Holy Family Church, Latrobe. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
