Latrobe Bulletin Mon, Jun 20, 1932
Joseph M. Ransel, aged 83 years, formerly of Latrobe, died at 6 o'clock
yesterday morning at the home of a grandchild, Mrs. Aileen Gipson, of 1440 West
Church street, Indiana. Mr. Ransel was born in Derry Township, May 16, 1849, the
son of the late John A. and Mary Geary Ransel. He once lived in Latrobe, and
served as street commissioner for nine years. He is survived by three sons: John
A. Ransel of Gary, Ind., Lawrence Ransel, of Crabtree, and Joseph M. Ransel. of
Latrobe. One daughter, Mrs. Stella Brown of Indiana; 15 grandchildren and one
great-grandchild also survive. Funeral services will be held at the Holy Family
church, Latrobe, at 9:30 o'clock, Tuesday morning, with interment to be made in
St. Mary's cemetery.
