Rich Retired GLSD Teacher, Volunteer Philomena T. Rich, 96, a resident of Villa Angela in Greensburg, formerly of Latrobe, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2008. She was born May 28, 1911, in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Mignogna) Rich. Prior to her retirement, Philomena was a teacher, having taught in the Derry Township, Unity Township and the Greater Latrobe schools. She was a member and former Honor Fund chairperson of the Westmoreland County Retired School Employees, and a member of the National and Pennsylvania Retired School Employees. She was a member and chaplain of the Century Club and a member of Latrobe Civic Club and the Deanery IV Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. She was a member of the St. Vincent Benedictine Oblates, the St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, where she was a lector and active in church activities, the St. John Rosary Altar Christian Mothers, the St. Vincent Rosary Altar Society and the Holy Family Rosary Altar Society. She volunteered for many years at Latrobe Area Hospital and also volunteered at the St. Vincent DePaul Store and the Adelphoi Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Elizabeth Rich, and five brothers, Michael, Charles, Anthony, Nicholas and Joseph Rich. She is survived by a niece, Theresa McCulloch of Latrobe; two nephews, Michael Rich of Florida and Robert Rich of Nevada; a number of great- nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, and many cousins. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hartman- Graziano Funeral Home Inc., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe. Members of St. John Rosary Altar Christian Mothers will recite the rosary 2:30 p.m. Tues-day in the funeral home. Members of the Oblates of St. Benedict will gather for a wake service 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Vincent Basilica, Unity Town-ship. Interment will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery, Unity Town-ship.
