Yolanda Richardson, 87, of Derry, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, in Excela Health
Latrobe Hospital. She was born Friday, Jan. 30, 1920, in Black Lick, a daughter
of the late Tobia and Lucia (Lucente) Santarelli. Yolanda was a member of St.
Joseph Roman Catholic Church of Derry. For 47 years, she owned and operated the
Yolanda Shoppe in Derry. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary
Roger Nolfi Unit 324 of Derry, Quota Club, Art Club of Latrobe, Chestnut Ridge
Ladies' Golf League, Latrobe Elks Lodge 907 and the Derry Business and
Professional Association. She was an avid painter and golfer. Besides her
parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vaughn E. Richardson; three
brothers, Carmine, Attilio and Guerin Santarelli, and a sister, Maly Tierno. She
is survived by her son, Doug Richardson and his wife, Ruthie; her daughter,
Denise Swarner and her husband, Bruce, all of Derry; two brothers, John
Santarelli and his wife, Eleonore, of Richmond, Va., and Tobias Santarelli and
his wife, Lorraine, of Upland, Calif.; two sisters, Christine Dunmire of Latrobe
and Betts Sindrich and her husband, Pete, of Denver, Colo.; her granddaughter,
Nicole Bongard and her husband, Russell; her grandson, Cory Martin, and her
great-granddaughter, Riley Isabella Bongard. Friends will be received 7 to 9
p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W.
Third Ave., Derry. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday in St.
Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Derry, with the Rev. Stephen C. West as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Coles Cemetery, Derry Township.
